Q: Where on the face is Botox® commonly used?
A: Botox® is used most commonly to treat:
- horizontal forehead lines
- glabellar furrows (“11 lines”)
- crow’s feet
Q: What are some other areas that Botox® can be used?
A: Botox® can also be used to treat:
- Nasal “bunny lines”
- A “gummy” smile
- Banding in the neck
Q: Is Botox® safe?
A: Botox® is very safe. It was approved by the FDA in 2002 and has undergone more clinical studies than any other medication in the world.
Q: Will I look overdone?
A: Our goal is to provide beautiful, natural results. We want your friends and co-workers to think you’re getting more sleep or that you went away on vacation, not that you had anything done.
Q: Will it hurt?
A: You will feel a slight pinch when the Botox® is injected. We used the smallest needle available (33-gauge) to minimize the pain as much as possible. Most patients describe the discomfort level as “mild.”
Q: Is there downtime?
A: You can return to your normal activities right away. Many patients have this procedure done on their lunch breaks.
Q: How long does Botox® last?
A: On average, Botox® lasts about 3-4 months. Most patients have about 3 treatments each year.
